Stewart Lee

"Stewart Lee is the closest the British comedy scene has to a cult hero, rarely has cynicism been so charming, intelligence so sexy, serious concerns so funny… arguably Britain’s first post-modern stand-up comedian...wickedly
sharp and precise.."
Jonathon Gibbs, The Scotsman

"His stand-up is artfully crafted, possessing an almost musical rhythm and specialising in a sort of intellectual
bafflement at the stupidity of the world around him ... Catch him before Hollywood does."
James Rampton, The Independent

"Lee is one of the most imaginative comedians on the fringe... You might as well go and see him perform,
because you’re going to spend the next year being told how good it is by other people."
Mark Edwards, The Sunday Times

"Top class stand-up."
Mark Wareham, Mail On Sunday

A cult figure of British comedy, Stewart's sardonic and rigorous act has had sell-out audiences in the palm of his hand all over the
world, including the Melbourne International and Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festivals and at the Edinburgh Festival with
Stewart Lee's Badly Mapped World.

As well as his uncompromisingly hilarious stand-up shows, Stewart wrote and starred (with regular comedy partner, Richard

Herring) in the hit TV shows Fist of Fun and This Morning with Richard Not Judy (BBC2) and co-wrote On the Hour (Radio
4), which later became The Day Today (BBC2). Over the last two years he has directed the Golden Rose of Montreux nominated
Attention Scum (BBC2), edited and guest written for two series of the sitcom Time Gentlemen please (Sky One) and has
directed and co-written the ground breaking critically acclaimed show, Jerry Springer
-The Opera.
